Running Assessment
Natural Running is the way the human body was meant to run in its purest form – namely barefoot – across a solid surface. That means running with efficient mechanics centered around landing lightly and the mid-foot/forefoot (ball of the foot, but not on the toes) and quickly sensing then, lifting your foot off the ground instead of pushing off with excessive muscular force. Practicing good running form can be simple, but it may take time to unlearn old habits and learn proper technique. Ultimately, good running can help make a runner stronger, more efficient and less prone to overuse injuries.
Our running assessment is designed to have a look at how efficiently you run. The assessment will take the form of a full exercise & injury profile followed by taking some video of you running on a treadmill from different angles.
This is why you should have a running assessment
- How your feet strike the ground
- The amount of strides per minute you take (cadence)
- How long your stride is
- What position your body position is in
- How much upper body involvement is occurring
- How effective you footwear is
With the outcomes of the assessment we will be able to get a full profile of your running ability (technical) and then suggest a suitable course of action to progress you.
You can use this assessment as a one off or incorporate it within a course of sessions from our running school that will really help you evolve and project your running to a new level. For more information look at our Running School packages.
