20 Questions – Alex

  1. What is your biggest fitness achievement?
    The 30 mile endurance test at the end of my Commando Course to gain my Green Beret.
  2. If you could only do one sport for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    That’s a tough one. I am going to go for Skiing (all disciplines). I love being in the mountains…awesome.
  3. What is your favourite toy?
    mmmmmmmmmmm………. That’s a really hard one as I have lots of boys toys. The one that gets the most use is my Ipad.
  4. What is your next big fitness challenge?
    Abu Dhabi long Distance triathlon (3rd March) 3km/200/km/20km.
  5. What is your favourite charity?
    Help for Heroes and other related organisations that help the bereaved families and wounded soldiers.
  6. How would you distribute your lottery winnings?
    I would give a small share to all those close to me. Obviously leaving a portion to add to my collection of favourite toys.
  7. Who do you most admire?
    ? I think I must say my father. He has given me a lot of opportunity and inspiration as I have grown up to make me who I am today. Although, when I told him I was doing the Abu Dhabi long distance triathlon all I got was – “You are mad”.
  8. Describe your relationship with food?
    Unfortunately in LOVE. Although I do try to stick to the 80/20 rule. Where I am good 80% of the time. Believe it or not, I don’t think that I eat enough for the training that I do. I should be on 3800kcal/day and I know I am well under. Get out the Pies.
  9. Are you in a relationship?
    Mrs Drummond and I are very much a HAPPY couple)
  10. What bores you?
    Admin at work. Where I can I delegate it, I do.
  11. What inspires you?
    Hard working, successful people. Those people with disability overcoming what many would say is the impossible.
  12. What trainers do you wear?
    Newton gravity (running), Salomon XC Pro (trail shoe), Adidas supernova (work).
  13. Describe yourself in 3 words

    Dedicated, Enthusiastic and Sporty.
  14. Favourite movie?
    Top Gun.
  15. Favorite tipple?
    I must say, I am not a big drinker, but I love a good glass of port. Sometimes that glass turns into a bottle. We have a rule in the house – If a bottle gets opened, it must be finished.
  16. Favourite famous sporting moment?
    Winning the British Orienteering Relay Championships as a family (myself, father and brother).
  17. What was your last formal qualification?
    B.Sc Hons (Sports Rehabilitation)
  18. What has been your best overseas trip?
    It takes a lot to beat the vistas that are presented to you in Val D’Isere, France. But, spending 3 months in Norway whilst in the military was awesome.
  19. Do you own a bicycle?
    Actually, I have 2. They are both my favourites. My road bike is a Colnago CLX and my mountain bike is a Giant Anthem. Both of them are pure luxury.
