Get On Track And Stay On Track!

Have you made New Year’s resolutions that you can’t keep?

Are you now feeling overloaded with things to do but don’t know where to start?

Do you know that you want to achieve something but can’t see how to make it happen?

The New Year is often a fresh start for many of us, and the time for enthusiastic commitments, ideas and promises. Often though, by February, many of us are finding those best laid plans hard to stick to.

The words ‘I really should be…..’ or ‘I must think about….’ or ‘I will try to…….’ start to creep into our vocabulary and the end result is that we are not convinced which direction to head in.

So how do you change this frustrating cycle of wanting change or improve but just not being able to follow it through to a successful outcome?

The first step forward is to think about what you really want to ACHIEVE by working out what is IMPORTANT to you now. Defining and evaluating a realistic goal is often the hardest part. It is far easier knowing what you should be doing but actually implementing it is quite different. Aim to decide what are the driving factors and the motivation for the goal and ensure in your mind that it is your goal and not someone else’s. It is important to feel ownership over your tasks so that the achievement feels even greater.

When you are defining a goal it is a good idea to think about the resources you need for the goal to be realised? Often our goals or challenges will involve other people, training courses, additional equipment, practical solutions or emotional support. Do you have all these in place and if not, where can you get the assistance you require.

It is worth pondering over the question of why this goal may not have worked before. What has prevented you from achieving this goal in the past? There may be past and present obstacles standing in the way and it is hard to see past them. It is therefore important to think about how you can stop them getting in the way this time so that the cycle of failure is broken.

How you will know when you have succeeded and achieved your goal? What defines that success for you, as an individual? What will it feel like and what does it mean for you to have achieved this goal?

When you are ready to work towards your goal or goals I can offer the support and motivation required to ensure that your ideas and commitments are met. I specialise in Personal Development Coaching and my aim is to offer effective coaching sessions to allow you to make positive changes to your current situation and achieve results. The initial guide above will start the thought process for you and the answers which you give will be the best insight as to how you move forward.

During coaching sessions there is a powerful combination of discovery, honesty and enlightenment which is very empowering. As you start to take control of your situation instead of life controlling you, real progress can be made. Those previous hidden obstacles and brick walls can be cleared away and solutions will be within your grasp. You will feel confident to make choices and important decisions which will ultimately lead to your personal happiness and success, at home, at leisure or within the workplace.

Get on track, stay on track and just think what you can achieve this year!!

One of my clients has written:

‘’ I was initially very sceptical about having a life coach and really didn’t think I needed one! How wrong was I !! Nikki made me see aspects of my life very differently and provided suggestions and valued support to improve my well being. I would highly recommend Nikki for her patience, empathy and drive which has enabled me to focus on my values and aspiration.’’
